As a long time subscriber to a local paper I read about this in the current Time magazine article on how to save the newspaper. Here's a more in depth look at the tech behind the 'next Kindle' that isn't a Kindle.

One of the OLPC XO laptop's greatest strengths is its e-book reader capability, and as the organization is restructuring, it should look towards improving the XO's book-reading experience to gain footing against competitors.
