We inherited a lovely garden for the previous owners of our home and for that we are very grateful, the problem lies in the fact that often, some of the best lessons in life stem from your biggest failures. We came in with plants selected and drip irrigation system all in place so really all we had to do was occasionally mow the lawn, pick some roses or trim back a hedge or two.
When we were hit with bugs and snails we really did not know what to expect or for that matter, to do. We have some very tame feral cats living in the backyard so harsh chemicals were right out so for the most part we have subscribed to the pick and remove policy. This works fine for snails, although I have found they come right back – our poor zinnias will attest to that- but bugs?
