Just a quick peek at a picture I starred on Flicker: Roger's Pulps
Roger sent me a bunch of his pulp SF/fantasy magazines a couple of weeks before he died. And now, I'm also helping out his estate by cataloguing and appraising the rest of his collection. Many of them have labels in them that he pasted in and dated when he was a teenager. Reading these books is a very special experience. I wrote a piece for RogerEbert.com about these pulps. Roger was many things. He was also a science fiction and fantasy nerd. A collecting, indexing, letter-writing, convention-going, autograph-line-waiting nerd. Just like so many of us.
