Another Blog-Worthy Photo From the Good People on Flickr

Just a quick peek at a picture I starred on Flicker: Fruit Stripe Gum Sign - 1960s

Here's a fun, vintage store sign from Beech-Nut, introducing the iconic Fruit Stripe Gum brand. This dates to the early 1960s, and shows the original five flavors and the original packaging. The kid appeared in other Beech-Nut advertising, including some of the early Fruit Stripe Gum commercials. The "Yipes! Stripes!" phrase was used right from the start. They would later have the famous zebra mascot named Yipes. The reverse side of this sign is a promotion for Lifesavers, as shown in the next photo.
