iSight: An updated iSight camera/microphone is due to be released within 3-4 weeks. The revision is expected to include modified mounting hardware (possibly a 2nd interchangeable bracket for use when the standard one won't fit) and other changes to bundled accessories.
Major changes, like a new CCD camera unit, new microphones, USB 2.0 support, or a price drop are still unconfirmed.
"Asteroid" audio I/O device: Further confirmation of this rumor has come in the form of HexEdit scans of GarageBand 2.0, as reported by reader Andy Fenner who pulled this file:
iLife '05 Install DVD/Individual Packages/Packages/GarageBandApp20.pkg/Contents/Archive.pax.gz
from the DVD and remove the GZip compression. If you open it with HexEdit you will find all kinds of allusions to Asteroid. Asteroid Max Volume, Asteroid Min Volume, Asteroid Slider, Select ASteroid Input and many, many others.
