Top of the World!

Whether you are in Chicago on Valentine's Day or really any other day, one thing I would have to say you must do is visit the Windy City's highest open-air skywalk atop the Hancock building. Best not to be afraid of heights as the Observatory is on the 94th floor, 1,000 feet above The Magnificent Mile. Take in the sights, I would recommend the view at sunset (tell her you promised her the stars) and it will seem like you are the only two people in the world. To really cap off the romance, plan for dinner or at least a cocktail at "The Signature Room on the 95th Floor." before heading back downstairs and to your hotel, before the mood wears off.

We spent an entire day in the area – shopping at Marshal Fields (it is now a Macy's) with a Frango snack and a quick bite in the historical Oak Room. Be sure to admire the Tiffany ceiling when you are there as well! Walking the Miracle Mile and soaking in all the history and architecture (if you have time take the Architectural Society's boat ride).

Chicago gets attention of the weather and the sports but the romance factor should not be discounted.
