For your $400 more, I'd go w/ the faster chips since the machine would last you longer before a new machine later...but those are quite the deals, and 1yr warranty is all you'd get from Apple for brand-new anyway! :) Good luck!

Dunno - is 2.x THAT much faster than 1.8? 400$

But then again a)what do I know and b0 look at who raised me(us).

The new OS comes out on October 15, which means you won't have to pay $100 for it if you wait.

Plus, they are going to speedbump them at that point, or so everyone believes...

I've been waiting 4 months and can wait a few more weeks myself.

However, it's a great machine even given the above. The fastest Windows machine according to PC magazine, as well, which is kind of funny.
