postcards from the edge

If you move around enough like we have, eventually you will have friends all over the country. Problem is, over time some friendships formed while in school can fade with the distance and the loss of commonality.

I mention all of this as someone I had thought of fallen off the face of the earth suddenly mailed us a postcard from Italy. We had exchanged Christmas cards over the last few years but that was about it and we actually just at the point of culling them from this year's list. Maybe they sensed it?

I know they still existed because as an academic they have a publication record that had recent entries but aren't the blogging type so other than through official channels can be hard to reach. This is where the big search engines can fail you and you need to turn to specialized people search directory. While people search can a great way to find and reconnect with someone whose address and phone number you have lost track of, all you need is their name and home state and Look Up Who will work their magic to provide you more information about that lost someone.

Best of all, Look Up Who's people search service is 100% free unlike many of their competitors, some of who charge (IMO) expensive fees. If you have lost touch with someone in the United States or Canada, give them a try. Who knows, maybe you'll have a couch you can sleep on next time you are traveling, or at least a (new) pen-pal!
