Shortsighted Policy

Forgive the vagueness, I don't want to burn any bridges, but doesn't it seem that if you buy your own hardware for a job that the company should reward you for spending your own money rather than punish you by telling you that they can't support you nor do you have access to the software you would if you were on 'their' machine?

Rather makes the idea of working form home (on my own time) seem like a BAD idea, if you ask me. Off to download OpenOffice.org and compatibility with the others in the group will be their problem.
