look the part

I have heard time and time again that the well dressed and well groomed get better treatment. Frequent flyers know this – when there is an opening in First or Business class and two people up for the seat, more often than not the flight attendant will give the seat to the person, "who looks like they belong in First Class." It may be unfair but it is human nature. And just today I heard of the latest study that when it comes to first impressions, "ninety percent of HR professionals place more importance on being well-groomed" even over that of a firm handshake.

That is why Gillette, the razor company, created the Gillette Career Advantage website. They want to help you get a job and if you already have one, to help you rise above your competition in the job market. A job market that I don't think I have to tell you that would be an underestimate to call competitive. You can review the expert advice from Mark Jeffries and GQ style correspondent, Brett Fahlgren, plus take a Gillette Career Quiz or view the Hire Guide to see what HR professionals really think.

The Gillette Resource Center is the destination to discover all the Gillette products and review survey findings. You can also get invaluable advice from their staff of grooming and career experts.

So when you land that big interview, or even just a telephone pre-screen interview, looking like a professional will help you feel like a professional and that confidence is key. Check out the website and you'll see.
