He'll Be Back Again Next Year
[christmas lights]
Getting to that point in our house where "The Christmas" is in the process of coming down and the house is starting to look empty. I know it will all seem normal again when we are done but for now that certain something is just missing.
Actually the wind storms took care of the 'round the door garland and the front door wreath was brought in as part of the pre-storm preparation - so the only thing left on public display are the house lights which may have to stay up for a while as I am not sure if I want to be up on a 10 foot tall ladder on soil that wet. Actually I wish I could just leave them up all year....
We were lucky that one of the previous owners of our house put up cup hooks to make the putting up and taking down easier but what would really be great would be a year-round system, particularly if they were the energy saving (and money saving) LED variety. I am told that the cost to operate 2000 LED Christmas lights for 8 hours a day for 365 days is only about $50. They also are durable , nearly indestructible and will last for more than 50,000 hours.
Just think of the fun you could have with a set of permanent lights or better yet two sets, one in colour for the holidays and one in white just to make the winter seem less 'blah.' This has been a sponsored suggestion.
