New word I learned today thanks to The New Yorker: Hibernaculum.

In reference to the Aeolus Cave, a large cave in New England where in
2007, an estimated 300,000 bats over-wintered.

Sadly, due to white-nose syndrom (a fungal disease) Vermont officials
feared there would be far fewer or even none this year.
