here come the sun

Add me to the list of people who are still thrown off by the early change to and/or late return from the daylight savings scheme, I still think it gets dark too early in the evening this time of year. We don't run too many lights in our house and we are thinking of adding or leasing solar panels for the roof to try and help push down of the cost our our monthly electric bill but you have to have enough light on to see, right? Add to that, I really would like to add some light features to our front yard. If you knew our neighborhood I would say "like the ones across the street," but that doesn't help a lot of you, now does it.

We bought a condo from a couple that kept a sailboat off the coast of Alameda and I know they had something like this remote controlled golight for use when they were returning to their slip after sun down. Sure makes finding your way home easy when it is dark or raining and you can not afford to make a mistake.

With a magnetic base, a 35 watt HID (high intensity discharge) halogen bulbs and a working beam length of 1900 feet, it was like turning night into day. I think they liked to call it their "X-files" light after the lights used by the FBI agents on that show.
