Regarding the previous post, here's the veggie alternative: tofurkey, courtesy of The Word Spy. For actual products, try Turtle Island Foods which bills itself as "America's Leading Turkey Alternative Since 1995" (Who held the title before 1995 I can not say.)
Food Safety and Nutrition - University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension in Lancaster Co. has loads of great tips on holiday bird preparation (if your tastes run that way).
Deboning a whole turkey is a great time and money saver - less oven time means eating sooner and paying the usually lower Whole Bird Price.

As cheap as I may be, I refure to get up on the day after Thanksgiving to shop for low priced crap, esp. at Walmart.
Then again I won't shop there on all the other 364 days of the year.

A weekend of cheap-ness exists just outside the SF Bay area:All You Can Eat Sushi (that is actually quite good) at Fuji Sushi in Davis, $8.95 a person M-Th, $9.95 on F, Sat, Sun.
You may have to wait in a bit of a line and it's lunch only but we figured we averaged under 90 cents a plate - could have eaten more but we were at a table and not at the bar.
Excellent ice cream in Yuba City at Brock's Ice Cream.
$2.30 for 2 huge scoops in a waffle cone. Totally fun flavours every time - I had Cotton candy & Black Liquorice. MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The thought of the day regarding the imaging of today's mice-
quote:
Futurama Reporter:Is there anything sadder? Only drowning puppies. And there'd have to be a lot of them.

I saw another v2 Toyota Prius today.
Is it just me or does it look a lot like the old Citroen?
In my mind this is a good thing, BTW. The excellent mileage they get is just C.A.B. gravy....

Additional note: 2 people I knew have received speeding tickets in Northern California Bay Area - watch your driving and don't be next! Governor-elect Arnold needs to come up with $$ fast it would seem.
Way too much Christmas already. Union Square Macy*s and the local Safeway are showing signs of Holiday Cheer.
Bah Humbug!

Did you ever think the Pillsbury Doughboy might be a ghost? Maybe he's back to haunt those who ate him and his kind in the past....
Just a thought. They can't *all* be about saving $, now can they?
